Job Summary

The University of Wuppertal is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to independently drive research in the additive manufacturing of powder-based metallic and intermetallic materials. This crucial role focuses either on material development or process optimization within the Chair of Materials Science and Additive Manufacturing. Day-to-day tasks include expanding and maintaining specialized laboratory equipment, documenting and publishing scientific results, presenting findings, and actively developing new research approaches for proposal submission. You will engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within an international team and participate in teaching (4 LVS). Candidates must hold a Master's and a Doctorate in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics, coupled with extensive hands-on experience in metal additive manufacturing (PBF, DED) and material analysis.
