Job Summary
This role involves serving as the Deputy Head of the state-recognized testing laboratory for gas measuring instruments (GBW 4) in Karlsruhe, Germany, focusing on ensuring the safe and reliable supply of energy and drinking water. The successful candidate will assume the deputy leadership after successful examination by the German Academy for Metrology and public appointment by the Eichdirektion Baden-Württemberg. Day-to-day responsibilities include jointly organizing, conducting, and monitoring official calibrations, sampling procedures, assessment tests, and incoming goods inspections for gas meters. The Deputy Head will also be responsible for the operational and economic management of the testing laboratory, organizing personnel training, and maintaining quality assurance systems, testing regulations, and programs. Key requirements include a technical degree or equivalent technical training, professional experience in legal metrology, ideally in gas measurement technology, and strong organizational skills.
