Job Summary

This role offers a versatile opportunity in polymer chemistry focusing on research and development at Roche Diagnostics in Penzberg. The Polymer Chemist will independently plan and execute complex organic-preparative syntheses of polymers and their precursors, including isolation, purification, and evaluation of functionalized polymers. Key responsibilities involve utilizing sophisticated chemical and physical analytical methods (e.g., GPC, NMR, UV-Vis) to assess synthesis products and process flows. Furthermore, the role requires optimizing and scaling established synthesis processes to prepare for production transfer, evaluating new developments, and actively contributing specialized knowledge within project teams. Candidates must possess a strong background in polymer or macromolecular chemistry, expertise in designing and synthesizing homo- and copolymers using radical polymerization techniques (like ATRP, RAFT), and demonstrated experience in creating tailored polymer structures. Strong teamwork, initiative, and proficiency in both German and English are essential for success in this dynamic, project-based environment.
