Job Summary

This leadership role requires an experienced Medical Technical Laboratory Assistant (MTLA) to head a central hospital laboratory responsible for nearly one million annual analyses, spanning clinical chemistry, hematology, PCR diagnostics, and immunhematology. The Head of Laboratory will manage a team of 17 (14 staff and 3 trainees), overseeing all operations, personnel development, budget planning, and ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards (Rili-BÄK, DIN EN ISO 15189). A key focus is process optimization, including the introduction and advancement of automated analysis procedures and digital solutions. Candidates must possess strong foundational knowledge in core diagnostic areas, leadership aptitude, and the willingness to participate in a 3-shift system, including weekend and holiday work, to ensure reliable, high-speed diagnostics in collaboration with clinical staff.
