Job Summary

This role is centered on ensuring full legal and safety compliance for automated assembly and testing equipment in the high-tech photonics industry. The Design Engineer / CE Compliance Specialist will be the primary authority responsible for compiling, reviewing, and managing all CE-relevant documentation, adhering strictly to the current Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC and upcoming 2023/1230). Day-to-day tasks involve creating functional safety evaluations using standards like DIN EN 13849 (Sistema), conducting thorough risk assessments (CE/SEMI), and serving as the main internal and external contact for safety aspects during product development. Candidates must possess a strong background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, significant experience in special machinery construction, and advanced knowledge of electrical systems planning necessary for safety evaluations. Success requires strong communication skills and a cooperative, hands-on approach to maintain the balance between organizational requirements and customer expectations in a rapidly evolving, international market.
