Job Summary

This role is for a Project Engineer specializing in Signal, Telecommunications, and Electrical Systems (STE) within the major infrastructure project connecting Karlsruhe and Basel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive project control of railway technical line equipment, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines, cost targets, and quality standards for the LST, EEA, OLA, and TK trades. Day-to-day tasks include leading planning meetings with external engineering firms, defining target concepts for advanced systems like Digital Interlocking Technology (DSTW) and ETCS Level 2, and managing complex interfaces across planning sections. You will serve as the primary contact for commercial departments regarding cost estimation, calculation, and tracking for STE contracts. Furthermore, the role involves overseeing tenders, managing contracts, and performing active claim and anti-claim management, coupled with technical and economic risk mitigation. This position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant project control experience and a background in Electrical Engineering or related fields, offering the chance to shape Germany's critical infrastructure.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Master) in Electrical Engineering, or Economics/Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years in project control across at least two Signal, Telecommunications, and Electrical Systems (STE) trades
  • Professional experience in planning, particularly in control and safety technology
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (ideal)
