Job Summary

This Research Associate position at TU Dresden's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology focuses on advanced research concerning the safety and reliability of high-power plug connections essential for future fast-charging infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive analysis of these highly stressed components, specifically investigating their electrical-thermal and tribo-electrical behavior under various current profiles and mechanical loads. Key daily tasks include the conception, setup, and execution of complex experimental trials, alongside the development of electrical-thermal models. You will verify these calculation models and conduct detailed studies on current carrying capacity and heating. The role requires a scientific university degree (Master/Diploma) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and strong proficiency in Finite Element Method (FEM) calculation programs. This is a unique opportunity for scientific advancement, typically leading to a doctorate (PhD), within a dynamic and supportive team environment at a German Excellence University.
