Job Summary

This role involves leading the strategic development and technical architecture of "BUBE" (Operational Environmental Data Reporting), a critical nationwide software used by industrial companies to digitally submit environmental data (emissions, waste, wastewater) under the PRTR framework. The coordinator will be responsible for defining and implementing binding IT standards, interfaces, and security specifications across the system's architecture. Key daily tasks include taking overall responsibility for goal achievement, leading and steering cross-state project groups involving 16 federal partners, managing quality assurance (e.g., requirement specifications), and overseeing the entire test and release process for new program versions. Candidates must possess a university degree (Master/Diploma) in Computer Science or a related IT field, or equivalent qualifications combined with significant professional experience. This position offers the unique opportunity to work for the Hessian State Office for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology (HLNUG), actively contributing to environmental protection and the sustainable development of nature in Hesse.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master/University Diploma) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or another IT-focused degree program; OR a Technical, Natural Science, or Economics degree (Master, Bachelor, or Diploma (FH)) plus several years of relevant professional experience. Final grade must be at least satisfactory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the described area (required if substituting a Master's degree)
  • Experience in leading and cross-state steering of project and working groups
  • Experience representing cooperation partners to developers, hosts, and operators
