Job Summary

This role involves leading the strategic development and structural advancement of "BUBE," a nationally used software system for digitally reporting environmental data (PRTR). The IT Project Coordinator, based in Kassel, will be responsible for defining and implementing technical standards, interfaces, and security requirements for the system's overall architecture. Key daily tasks include leading and cross-state steering of project and working groups across 16 federal partners, ensuring quality assurance (e.g., performance specifications and requirements documentation), and managing test and release processes for new program versions. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in IT or a related field, possesses strong knowledge of database systems including SQL and web applications, and demonstrates excellent organizational skills to coordinate complex projects and diverse project groups. Fluency in both German and English is required for clear, service-oriented communication.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (University Diploma) in Informatics, Business Informatics, or another IT-focused degree. Alternatively, a technical, natural science, or economic degree (Master/University Diploma, Bachelor, or Diploma (FH)) combined with relevant professional experience. Minimum final grade of "Satisfactory" is required.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the described areas of responsibility (required if holding a Bachelor's/FH Diploma)
  • Demonstrated professional experience in the fields mentioned under tasks, especially project management knowledge and experience (Advantageous)
  • Experience in quality assurance of IT projects and in a scientific environment (Advantageous)

Additional

  • Must be able to start, if possible, by January 1, 2026. The position is permanent (unlimited contract) and full-time (40 hours/week). Must be willing to work in Kassel.
