Job Summary
This Associate Expert R&D Automation role is based in Heidelberg, focusing on optimizing and maintaining laboratory automation processes within the Research & Development Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, supervision, and maintenance of a fleet of state-of-the-art liquid handlers, providing crucial first-line technical support and troubleshooting for in-house systems. Key tasks involve developing and adapting automated workflows for various biotechnological and analytical methods, integrating these workflows with LIMS and internal data management systems, and documenting method protocols. This entry-level, permanent position offers an international environment and flexible hours, making it ideal for an early-career professional with a Master's degree in Life Sciences, practical experience in liquid handling (preferably Tecan Freedom EVOware®), and programming skills in Python, who is eager to contribute to life-enhancing therapeutic protein development.
Required Skills
Education
M. Sc. in Life Sciences or comparably qualified early-career professional
Experience
- Relevant professional experience following an M. Sc. in Life Sciences, or equivalent early-career qualification
- Practical experience with liquid handling platforms (preferably Tecan Freedom EVOware®)
- Experience with scripting logic for automation systems
- Experience with data management or LIMS tools (considered a plus)
