Job Summary

This role involves ensuring automotive products comply with national and international material standards and regulations. The specialist will primarily focus on creating, reviewing, and approving IMDS (International Material Data System) material data sheets according to internal norms and legal requirements. Daily tasks include analyzing material data for legally restricted chemical content, managing vehicle parts lists, and proactively tracking deadlines for material data acquisition from the supply chain. A crucial part of the job is acting as a technical consultant and providing helpdesk support to OEMs and suppliers regarding IMDS and material prohibitions (such as ELV, REACh). Candidates should possess a relevant technical degree and practical knowledge of materials, ideally within the automotive sector. This position offers comprehensive onboarding and the opportunity to work autonomously on diverse projects within an international product development environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Vehicle Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Management, or a solid technical education with corresponding professional experience.

Experience

  • Practical knowledge regarding materials, ideally within the automotive industry
  • Initial knowledge of legal substance prohibitions (e.g., ELV, REACh)
  • Initial user knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software
