Job Summary

This role involves specialized material control and compliance within the automotive product development sector. The professional will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and approving IMDS (International Material Data System) material data sheets according to internal standards and international material legislation. Key daily tasks include analyzing material data for legally and safety-relevant chemical content, presenting findings to clients, and managing the procurement of missing material data from the supply chain. The position requires a degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related engineering field, along with strong communication skills and fluency in both German and English. The successful candidate will act as a technical consultant for clients on material prohibitions, provide helpdesk support regarding IMDS and material restrictions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation and team knowledge transfer. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Vehicle Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Management, or a solid technical education with relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Practical knowledge of materials, ideally within the automotive industry
  • Knowledge of vehicle components/automotive construction highly desirable
  • Initial experience with statutory substance prohibitions (e.g., ELV, POP, TSCA, REACh) desirable
  • Initial user experience with Life Cycle Assessment software (LCA for Experts advantageous)
