Job Summary

This critical role involves operating and maintaining one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures, serving as the primary digitalization partner for the German Armed Forces. The Backup System Engineer will be centrally located within Shared Service Delivery, ensuring stable, secure, and geo-redundant IT services by focusing on uninterrupted performance within defined Service Level Agreements. Day-to-day tasks include the operation of major enterprise backup solutions, specifically the DellEMC Data Protection Suite, Veeam, and/or IBM Spectrum Protect environments. A core responsibility is the secure backup and recovery of critical Microsoft Groupware applications, such as Exchange, SharePoint, and MS-SQL Server. Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience, specific certifications in the required backup technologies, and strong knowledge of operating concepts, documentation, and incident/change management.
