Job Summary

This role offers a highly focused opportunity as a Scientist in Cell Fermentation at Roche Diagnostics GmbH in Penzberg, initially through a temporary contract with the goal of permanent takeover. The core responsibilities involve hands-on execution of cell culture fermentations, managing processes up to 10 L lab scale, and actively optimizing these fermentation strategies, particularly in areas like perfusion and process intensification. A significant part of the job includes supporting routine production batches for antibody manufacturing, ensuring meticulous documentation compliant with GMP standards. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in a relevant Natural Science field, such as Biotechnology or Bioengineering, coupled with practical professional experience in fermentation technology and handling bioreactors. You will be responsible for conducting analytical tests, preparing data presentations, and collaborating on critical projects involving process development, scale-up, and troubleshooting. Success requires strong teamwork, an independent work ethic, and a willingness to occasionally work weekends.
