Job Summary

This critical role involves leading and managing safe, economic, and uninterrupted plant operations within a continuous shift system, specifically within a chemical or petrochemical environment. The Shift Leader acts as the primary decision-maker and representative of the Operations Manager outside of regular working hours, holding full authority for operational control and emergency response until a crisis team is activated. Key daily tasks include optimizing processes, managing resources, ensuring rigorous adherence to all Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) standards, and maintaining complete and accurate documentation, such as shift reports. The ideal candidate brings vocational training in a technical field (preferably as a Chemical Technician or Master Craftsman) and extensive experience in petrochemical or tank terminal operations. Success requires strong leadership skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement (KVP/Lean).
