Job Summary

This full-time, fixed-term position until January 31, 2027, within the Tübingen Regional Council focuses on environmental and water regulation for industry and municipalities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the monitoring, approval, and consultation of industrial and commercial operations to ensure strict compliance with legal provisions and technical regulations concerning pollution control, water protection, waste management, and occupational safety. Key daily tasks include handling complex water rights approval procedures related to hazardous substances, rainwater, and industrial/municipal wastewater. The role also involves providing technical support and advice to lower water authorities and assisting with the implementation of state objectives for municipal wastewater disposal. Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or science field, strong negotiation skills, high initiative, and proficiency in standard Office software, coupled with fluent German language skills (C1).

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master or University Diploma) in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering. Accreditation required for degrees from technical colleges (Fachhochschule) or equivalent institutions.

Experience

  • Professional experience in regulatory compliance (environmental, water, waste, and occupational safety law) is ideal
  • Experience in water rights approval procedures (hazardous substances, industrial/municipal wastewater) is ideal
  • Experience supporting information technology systems in environmental administration (WIBAS) is ideal
