Job Summary

This Senior Planning Engineer role focuses on driving the modernization and digitalization of German rail transport systems, specifically within the domain of digital command and control technology (dLST). The professional will independently plan complex telecommunications systems, including transmission paths and systems, within the railway environment. Key responsibilities involve coordinating the optimal positioning and control of field equipment for digital interlockings (DSTW) and actively contributing to the development of digital planning methods to enhance quality. The ideal candidate possesses a technical degree in Electrical Engineering and extensive experience in planning telecommunications facilities (optical data networks, cable systems, fittings) for Deutsche Bahn. Expertise in electrical and optical transmission systems, IP networks, and IT systems is crucial, along with proficiency in AutoCAD and/or GIS-based planning tools. This position acts as a vital interface between engineering, assembly, testing, and project management, requiring strong communication skills in German.

  • Long-term professional experience in planning telecommunications facilities (optical data networks, cable systems, fittings) for Deutsche Bahn
