Job Summary

The City of Geislingen an der Steige seeks a highly experienced Head of Human Resources to lead its personnel department, overseeing HR functions for approximately 600 municipal employees. This demanding leadership role involves managing and developing a team of seven, and coordinating closely with the Mayor and department heads. Day-to-day responsibilities include strategic personnel planning, managing all recruitment and selection procedures, and ensuring robust compliance with German labor, compensation, and civil service law. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overall payroll and compensation management, driving the digitalization of HR processes, and advising on organizational development and occupational safety. Key qualifications include a university degree in a relevant field like Public Management or Business Administration with an HR specialization, coupled with several years of professional experience, ideally within public administration.
