Job Summary

This role involves the comprehensive administration of central IT infrastructure for the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (GDWS). The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, optimization, and security of core systems, including planning and procurement of necessary IT components. Key daily tasks include administering Proxy and Firewall systems, managing antivirus protection, and conducting performance and error analyses to resolve system disruptions. The position requires collaboration with various IT teams on project implementation and providing support for IT workstations in Bonn and Koblenz. Candidates must possess a completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration with at least three years of professional experience, coupled with strong knowledge of Microsoft Server OS, virtualization technologies (HyperV, VMware), and IT security principles like BSI Basic Protection.
