Job Summary

This role involves the crucial commissioning of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems, focusing on DC protection within a global context. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating and testing HVDC control technology hardware and software in a test center, conducting and documenting functional and dynamic performance tests, and overseeing customer acceptance tests. A key aspect of the role is the technically sound, timely, and economical commissioning of HVDC/DC systems worldwide. The position also requires supporting commissioning management in quality, risk, and claim management, and actively participating in continuous improvement programs. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical or energy engineer with expertise in HVDC technology and a readiness for extensive international travel.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical power supply and plant commissioning (advantageous)
  • Experience with MATLAB/SIMULINK (project planning and testing)
  • Experience with Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7 and CFC
  • Experience with Grid Protection Systems/Protection Relays BCU (DIGSI / Siprotec V4/5)
  • Experience in HVDC/DC systems in high voltage, control, regulation, measurement, protection, and communication systems
