Job Summary

This role involves serving as the Scientific Officer and Coordinator for the German National Hub Contact Point (NHCP) within the European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC), hosted by the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). The successful candidate will manage the scientific and administrative functions of the NHCP, including acting as the secretariat and supporting the overall administrative project leadership at BfR. Day-to-day duties involve coordinating responses to official inquiries, facilitating networking among diverse national expert groups, and managing information flow between national and international partners. A key responsibility is the strategic conceptualization, planning, organization, and execution of regular National Hub meetings, workshops, and stakeholder dialogues. This position requires a completed university degree (Master's level or equivalent) in Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, or a related scientific field, coupled with proven experience in project management and interdisciplinary collaboration. Fluency in both German and English is mandatory, as the role involves representing the German National Hub at regular EU-wide PARC meetings, offering a unique opportunity for high-level strategic involvement in chemical risk assessment across Europe.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent university diploma) in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology, or a comparable field. Doctorate is desired.
