Job Summary

This role involves joining a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team at the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology (ITMP) in Penzberg/Munich, focusing on the research and development of novel therapeutic approaches for bacterial infectious diseases. The primary responsibility is the generation of recombinant bacteriophages for therapeutic applications, specifically Phage Therapy. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Molecular Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a comparable field, coupled with several years of experience in genome engineering of bacteriophages and/or bacteria. Success in this position requires curiosity, creativity, a self-reliant and structured work ethic, and excellent written and spoken German and English.
