Job Summary

This Controller role at the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology (ITMP) is centered on developing and managing financial and project controlling within a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment. The successful candidate will act as a key interface, balancing the demands of publicly funded research with the requirements of grant providers and industrial partners. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing research projects across their entire lifecycle—from initial calculation and quotation to final settlement and billing—and overseeing project funds, accounting, and debt collection. The role requires expertise in budget steering and resource planning, including personnel deployment via SAP CATS, generating complex monthly reports and forecasts, and advising scientific staff on business and funding law matters. Key requirements include a relevant university degree, several years of professional controlling experience, and deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling modules.
