Job Summary
The Laboratory and Plant Technology Engineer plays a central role in maintaining and advancing the complex, state-of-the-art laboratory and pilot plant infrastructure used for research and development, particularly in the area of chemical synthesis. This position acts as the interface between scientific staff and building technology, ensuring that facilities operate according to the latest technological standards while adhering to strict safety and environmental regulations. Day-to-day tasks include advising management on the procurement of new equipment and the introduction of novel procedures, coordinating external service providers for lab development, and supporting scientists in the technical planning and implementation of experimental projects. The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, coupled with multi-year professional experience managing scientific or industrial laboratory facilities and deep familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as the Hazardous Materials Ordinance. Required Skills
Education
University or Technical College degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (ideally in Operational Technology, Biochemistry, or Laboratory Technology)
Experience
- Multi-year professional experience in a scientific-technical environment
- Experience in the operation and management of scientific or industrial laboratory or production facilities
- Multi-year professional experience and familiarity with legal frameworks (Occupational Safety, Hazardous Materials Ordinance)

- Initial contract limited to two years, with the possibility of permanent employment
