Job Summary

This role is central to the Content Management Center (CMC) of the ORF, Austria's largest media house, ensuring the reliable 24/7 transmission of TV, Radio, and Online content. The Broadcast Operations Engineer will manage modern broadcast and IT technology, specializing in Playout and Signal Management. Daily responsibilities include operating automation systems, providing technical support for live events, and handling the reception, processing, and provision of live signals from global sources. A critical component of the job involves technical fault detection, analysis, and rapid restoration of services. Candidates must possess a completed technical education in Media or Information Technology (or equivalent HTL/FH qualification), demonstrate a strong interest in Broadcast, Streaming, and IT technologies, and exhibit structured, analytical problem-solving skills, especially under pressure. The position requires flexibility to participate in 24/7 shift operations, including weekends and holidays, and offers opportunities to actively modernize workflows and introduce new technologies.

Completed vocational training or degree in Media Technology, Information Technology, or comparable qualification (e.g., Higher Technical Institute or University of Applied Sciences)

Experience

  • Professional experience with Broadcast, Streaming, and IT technologies (implied interest and continuous development required)
