Job Summary

This role is an exceptional opportunity for a Patent Attorney Candidate specializing in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or IT to undertake comprehensive training in Frankfurt. The successful candidate will gain extensive insight into all facets of industrial property rights while working towards becoming a German and European Patent Attorney. Day-to-day tasks involve assisting senior Patent Attorneys, consulting with inventors, drafting meticulous patent applications, and formulating detailed opinions on patentability based on official search and examination reports. You will also participate in oral hearings, opposition, and appeal proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) and the European Patent Office (EPO). Key qualifications include a very strong university degree, potentially a doctorate, in a relevant technical discipline, coupled with initial professional experience. Fluency in both German and English, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent abstract reasoning skills are essential for success in this demanding and rewarding legal field.
