Job Summary

This role offers a Graduate Energy Systems Engineer the opportunity to engage in long-term, innovative projects for Siemens Energy, focusing on the future of sustainable energy infrastructure. The core responsibilities involve leading performance and project management for complex studies related to electrical energy systems, network planning, and development. Day-to-day tasks include planning, analyzing, and simulating electrical systems, modeling network components including power electronics, and developing robust network structures. A key function is the integration of cutting-edge technologies like power electronic devices, renewable generation, and storage units into AC networks through concept, feasibility, and tender studies. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields and possesses strong expertise in energy system simulation tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory). Success requires initiative, strong analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multicultural virtual teams and external partners, utilizing fluency in both German and English.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Power Electronics, or comparable field

Experience

  • Professional experience or profound knowledge in energy system simulation (using tools like PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD/EMTDC, RTDS, DigSilent, Matlab/Simulink)
  • Experience in handling medium and high voltage (HVDC) and/or FACTS systems
  • Familiarity with transformers, network generators, and converters
