This role seeks a dedicated Project Manager to spearhead initiatives concerning rainwater and combined sewer management within the Bavarian State Office for the Environment. The core responsibilities include acting as a central technical expert, providing specialized advice and training to regional water management authorities on topics like water-sensitive urban development and pollutant load calculations. The manager will lead key technical projects, prepare essential publications, and deliver presentations, ensuring the protection of Bavarian waters from municipal discharges. Key qualifications include a Master’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering and broad technical knowledge of urban drainage and wastewater treatment. This permanent position offers the opportunity to influence state-level environmental policy, contribute to the development of technical standards, and work on critical ecological projects like "Sponge Cities," all within a stable public sector role offering flexible working arrangements and potential for up to 50% home office after the initial training period.

Required Skills

Education

Completed Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a comparable field of study

Experience

  • Professional experience in urban drainage and wastewater treatment
  • Professional experience in the Bavarian water management administration (advantageous)
  • Leadership competence (desirable)
