Job Summary

This role as an IT Security and Emergency Management Officer at the German Weather Service (DWD) involves ensuring secure and high-performance IT communication infrastructures for the DWD and all agencies under the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV). Day-to-day responsibilities include establishing and executing monitoring measures to meet stringent IT security requirements, processing complex tasks related to network security, cloud connectivity, and emergency management. A core function is the continuous creation and maintenance of crucial IT security and emergency documentation, including those related to critical infrastructure (KRITIS). You will contribute to the DWD's Information Security Management System (ISMS), coordinate emergency drills, and provide expert advice to affiliated agencies on implementing BSI and EU security mandates. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in a technical field like Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, possesses fluent German (C1) and intermediate English (B2) skills, and is prepared to undergo a security clearance process.
