Job Summary

This three-year, fixed-term Research Associate position at the TU Dresden's Faculty of Electrical and Information Technology focuses on High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems and intelligent energy networks. The core responsibility involves fundamental investigation of discharge behavior in atmospheric air under non-standard transient voltage loads, which deviate from standardized impulse forms. Day-to-day tasks include conducting thorough literature reviews, designing and constructing experimental setups for generating unique impulse voltage forms, and performing detailed experimental studies on discharge initiation and propagation under the influence of superimposed DC voltage and electrode temperature. A critical component of the role is developing and verifying a multiphysical computational model using Finite Element Methods (FEM) based on the collected experimental data.
