Job Summary

This critical role in Kassel involves designing, developing, and optimizing electronic systems for modern vehicles, spanning classic automotive applications and specialized, safety-critical vehicles. The Hardware Development Engineer will be responsible for creating printed circuit boards (PCBs), utilizing advanced E-CAD tools like Mentor Graphics or Altium Designer, and ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508. Key daily tasks include creating detailed specifications using tools like DOORS, conducting rigorous developer tests (e.g., in-circuit, EMV checks), and performing root cause analysis for hardware errors. The successful candidate will also define manufacturing test protocols and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Software, Mechanical, Quality) to integrate hardware solutions seamlessly into the overall system. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in electronics development

  • Professional experience in creating specifications and requirements
  • Experience with PDM systems and SAP
