Job Summary

The LIAG Institute for Applied Geophysics is seeking an IT Specialist for a permanent, full-time position focused on IT system and application administration. This role involves crucial system administration tasks, including system updates, error analysis, and troubleshooting across a mixed OS environment. A key responsibility is the creation and implementation of automation scripts, particularly focusing on Linux server administration and regular data backup verification. The administrator will also be heavily involved in application support and user helpdesk functions, ensuring the performance optimization and documentation of systems and procedures. Candidates must possess a degree in IT or a related MINT field, coupled with proven experience in Linux and Bash scripting, and a strong problem-solving and service-oriented approach. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor, Diplom-FH, or equivalent) in Information Technology, other MINT subjects, or a comparable field.
