Job Summary

This full-time, permanent role as an Explosion Protection Technical Specialist is situated within the Stuttgart City Drainage Department (SES), focusing on ensuring the safety and compliance of critical wastewater infrastructure, including the sewer network, basins, and pumping stations. The specialist will manage the entire scope of explosion protection according to the Industrial Safety Ordinance, which includes commissioning necessary testing, maintenance, and repair work. Key responsibilities also involve contributing to the creation of essential explosion protection documents, coordinating external contractors for maintenance activities, and handling administrative tasks such as preparing payroll reports for the department staff. Candidates should possess a technical qualification, such as a Master Craftsman or State Certified Technician degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Prior knowledge of explosion protection is beneficial, and a commitment to obtaining further certification (Qualified Person status under TRBS 1203) is required. Required Skills

Education

Completed qualification as a Master Craftsman (Meister) or State Certified Technician (Techniker) in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable three-year technical vocational qualification in a related field.

  • Professional experience in commissioning and coordinating testing, maintenance, and repair measures
  • Professional experience in technical administrative support
