Job Summary

This role involves high-level scientific research focusing on preclinical metabolomics, specifically studying the development and metabolism of lymph nodes affected by melanoma metastasis. The successful candidate will be responsible for biochemical and histopathological characterization of tumor cells in tissues using advanced chemical and fluorescence staining techniques. Key activities include handling in vivo and in vitro models to test hypotheses, studying small molecule metabolite alterations via mass spectrometry imaging, and quantifying metabolites using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry. The position requires a PhD in Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, strong expertise in relevant laboratory tools (cell cultures, histopathology, microscopy, chromatography), and excellent English communication skills. This is an attractive opportunity within the Leibniz Association, offering scientific development, state-of-the-art equipment, and participation in international conferences.
