Job Summary

This role seeks a highly motivated Clean Room Engineer to support and coordinate micro- and nano-fabrication activities for the new "Microstructured Quantum Matter" department at the Max Planck Institute. The core responsibilities involve process development, machine maintenance, user training, and coordination between research partners. Day-to-day tasks include the operation and rigorous maintenance of major equipment, specifically a high-precision UV laser writer and a multi-source Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) system. You will ensure these systems operate at their feasibility limits, achieving high reproducibility in tasks like writing 300nm features and producing homogeneous thin films. The position requires a Master’s degree in Nanotechnology or a related technical science, coupled with over two years of professional clean room experience. Fluency in both English and German is necessary.
