Job Summary

This role involves serving as the primary point of contact and representative for the Welcome Office in Münster, focusing on the integration and support of new immigrants, international specialists, students, and their families. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing initial, communication-intensive consultations regarding living and working in Münster, and networking with interdisciplinary partners to facilitate referrals for specific legal or social questions. The officer is also responsible for analyzing and documenting consultation contacts, maintaining and developing digital information resources, and coordinating group offers for diverse target audiences. Key requirements include a background in law or public administration, strong written and oral communication skills in German and English, and proficiency in a third language. The position requires interdisciplinary legal knowledge, particularly concerning residence and skilled immigration laws, and strong intercultural competence, making it a crucial role in maintaining Münster's high quality of life.

Required Skills

Education

Qualification for the general administrative service, career group 2, 1st entry level (equivalent to Bachelor level public administration) OR Administrative Course II OR Completed Law degree (Bachelor / 1st State Examination) OR University degree (min. Bachelor) with a focus on legal studies.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public administration or legal consulting
  • Experience in interdisciplinary cooperation and networking
  • Prior knowledge of immigration law (residence law, skilled immigration law, professional qualifications law) is preferred
