Job Summary
The City of Münster is seeking a dedicated Construction Site Manager for their Mobility and Civil Engineering Department to oversee small to medium-sized road, sewer, and road maintenance projects. This role is crucial for managing Münster's sustainable infrastructure development as the city grows. Day-to-day responsibilities include site supervision, quality control, safety compliance, and coordinating various trades. The manager will also handle scheduling, negotiate with contractors, manage financial aspects including supplementary claims, and ensure adherence to traffic regulations (RSA guidelines). The ideal candidate holds qualifications as a certified construction technician, road construction master, or similar, and demonstrates strong organizational skills, negotiation ability, and a collaborative, resilient approach to problem-solving. This position offers meaningful work contributing directly to the city's appearance and infrastructure, initially on a fixed-term contract until September 2026.
Required Skills
Education
Certified Construction Technician (Staatlich geprüfte/r Bautechniker/in), Road Construction Master (Straßenbaumeister/in), or Road Maintenance Master (Straßenwärtermeister/in). Alternatively, Certified Technician or Master in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture combined with multi-year experience in road or sewer construction. Enrollment in a corresponding technical or master's training program is also acceptable.
Experience
- Professional experience in construction site management (ideal, but not mandatory for applicants with required qualifications)
- Multi-year professional experience in road or sewer construction (required for candidates with Landscape Architecture qualifications)
- Experience in creating measurements and managing financial aspects of construction projects

- Class B driving license is required. The position is initially fixed-term until September 30, 2026.
