Job Summary

This role involves managing and maintaining the Geographic Information System (GIS) for the Agriculture, Environment, and Veterinary Office within the Uckermark district administration. The specialist will be responsible for the full data lifecycle, including data acquisition, updating environmental data, processing and converting data for internal use, and generating information via maps and the official WebGIS system. A key coordination aspect of the job involves preparing input and coordinating official statements (TÖB) for public planning procedures, such as building plans, infrastructure projects, and environmental permits, ensuring regulatory compliance. Candidates must possess a qualification equivalent to a Diploma in Public Administration for the higher non-technical service, secure knowledge of GIS tools like QGIS, and basic understanding of relevant environmental law. The position requires strong communication skills, independent work, and mandatory fluency in German (C1).

Required Skills

Education

Diploma in Public Administration or comparable qualification enabling entry into the higher non-technical administrative service.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) handling and data management.
  • Experience supporting administrative concepts and reports for district authorities.
  • Professional experience coordinating official statements regarding public planning procedures (e.g., building plans, infrastructure, environmental permits).
  • Foundational knowledge in environmental law (Nature Conservation, Water, Waste, Soil Protection).
