Job Summary

This leadership role involves the technical, disciplinary, and strategic management of the Electrical Design department, currently overseeing two experienced staff members. The Head of Electrical Engineering is responsible for the strategic development of the product portfolio's electrical aspects, reporting directly to the CTO. Day-to-day tasks include ensuring all developments meet technical standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., EN 60204, UL 508A), managing customer projects from planning through certification, and providing expert support to production and service teams. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering and possesses several years of practical experience in electrical design within plant engineering, robotics, or mechanical engineering. Success requires strong technical judgment, expertise in EPLAN P8, and proven experience in team leadership and budget management, ensuring continuous product improvement and cost optimization without sacrificing quality.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or similar; alternatively, a technical qualification such as State-Certified Electrical Technician, Master Electrician, or Electronics Technician

Experience

  • Several years of practical experience in electrical design (plant engineering) and series production
  • Several years of experience in technical-disciplinary team leadership
  • Experience as a Senior Engineer or technical Project Manager in leading-edge functions
  • Experience in cost and budget management
  • Fundamental experience in applying the European Machinery Directive
  • Experience with US market compliance (UL 508A, NFPA 79) or motivation to quickly acquire this knowledge
