Job Summary

This is a key leadership role responsible for the technical, disciplinary, and strategic management of the Electrical Engineering department within a robotics and automation technology company. The Head of Electrical Engineering will lead a team of experienced engineers, reporting directly to the CTO, and drive the strategic development of the electrical aspects of the product portfolio in close collaboration with Product Management. Day-to-day tasks include ensuring compliance with critical international standards (e.g., EN 60204, UL 508A, NFPA 79), overseeing the successful electrical implementation of customer projects from planning through certification, and managing the departmental budget. The ideal candidate must possess deep expertise in electrical design, especially in plant engineering and series production, with mandatory proficiency in EPLAN P8, and the ability to ensure products meet both European and US market standards.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or similar field, or a technical qualification (e.g., certified electrical technician, master electrician, electronics technician)

Experience

  • Several years of practical experience in electrical design (plant engineering) and series production
  • Several years of experience in technical and disciplinary team leadership, or equivalent experience in a Senior Engineer/Technical Project Lead role
  • Professional experience in cost and budget management

Additional

  • Deep knowledge of the European Machinery Directive required; ability or strong motivation to quickly acquire knowledge of US electrical standards (UL 508A, NFPA 79) for product compliance is central to the position.
