Job Summary

This role involves supporting the 'Quinoa for future diversified cropping systems' (Q4F) project, focused on developing improved Quinoa genotypes adapted for cultivation in Germany under climate change. The Technical Assistant will be responsible for the independent planning and execution of complex field and climate chamber experiments, including planting, maintenance, and harvesting of Quinoa. Key daily tasks include detailed data collection (morphological, physiological, phenological properties) using both destructive and non-destructive methods, installing and maintaining microclimate sensor technology, and conducting drone-based multispectral data collection and processing. Candidates must have a background as a Biological Technical Assistant or equivalent, extensive experience in agricultural trial implementation, and proficiency in data management and specialized software like R, QGis, and Citavi. This is a crucial support role, coordinating student helpers and contributing to reports and publications within a leading research institute.
