Job Summary

This role is for an Environmental Engineer within the Technical Environmental Protection division, focusing on cross-media operational environmental protection. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical assessment of building applications and the on-site monitoring of businesses. Day-to-day tasks include processing building applications and complaints related to water, waste, and immission control, conducting environmental inspections, and approving/monitoring indirect discharges. This position requires strong interdisciplinary knowledge in environmental technology and law, along with the ability to navigate administrative and legal regulations. The role demands reliable, flexible, and resilient professionals who can communicate effectively and demonstrate decisiveness when interacting with applicants, experts, authorities, and complainants. Physical resilience for field work and a Class B driving license are mandatory for this challenging, yet dynamic, public service position.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma, Bachelor, or Master) in Technical Environmental Protection (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology and Resource Management, Construction Engineering, Supply and Disposal Technology, or comparable field)

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical environmental protection (e.g., environmental engineering, construction engineering, supply and disposal technology)
  • Experience applying relevant administrative regulations and legal requirements
  • Experience conducting field work and environmental inspections
  • Experience interacting and communicating with stakeholders (applicants, experts, authorities)
