Job Summary

This role involves applied research at the Institute for Bioprocess and Analytical Measurement Technology (iba), focusing on developing technical systems for life sciences, particularly disease modeling and personalized medicine. The Biotechnologist will be responsible for adapting and characterizing microfluidic perfusion modules for 2D cell cultures and integrating alternating electric fields to develop combinatorial therapies, including chemo-, radiation, or immunotherapy. Key daily tasks include establishing fluorescence-based staining methods, characterizing the microenvironment of biological models, and analyzing fluorescence microscopy images (morphology, structure, nuclei) using suitable AI models. The role requires a Master's degree in Life Science, Biotechnology, or a related field, coupled with practical experience in cell culture techniques, tumor biology, and handling electrical fields. Success requires independent experiment planning, meticulous documentation, evaluation, and presentation of scientific results, culminating in the writing of publications, all within an interdisciplinary and internationally networked research environment.
