This specialist role focuses on ensuring robust IT security and data protection compliance for the innovative 'Evidence Cloud' (Beweismittelcloud) project within the State Criminal Police Office of Lower Saxony (LKA). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive IT security concepts, conducting BSI IT Baseline Protection checks, and implementing BSI modules related to information security for this cloud-based platform, which utilizes AI for modern criminal prosecution. A core part of the job involves managing all data protection matters, including providing expert legal advice, conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIA), and acting as the primary contact for the supervisory authority (Data Protection Commissioner). The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant scientific field, deep expertise in data protection law (GDPR/NDSG), and experience working within a public authority, offering the opportunity to contribute to critical digital transformation in law enforcement.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's or Diploma) or 1st State Examination in a field relevant to the tasks

Experience

  • Several years of experience performing data protection tasks at a public authority
  • Fundamental knowledge of police organizational and procedural structure
  • In-depth knowledge of IT use in public administration
  • Knowledge of police IT infrastructure
