Job Summary

The Landeskriminalamt Niedersachsen (State Criminal Police Office of Lower Saxony) is seeking a dedicated IT System Administrator to join Department 12, focusing on management and operational resources. This role is crucial for maintaining central systems within high-security investigation networks, supporting critical police operations. Day-to-day tasks include administering server and virtualization infrastructures based on Microsoft, Linux, and VMware, managing the Active Directory, and setting up and operating container-based environments like Kubernetes or Docker. A key focus is hardening central systems to protect investigations involving the Deep and Dark Web, and conceptualizing new technical solutions for crime fighting. Candidates must possess a relevant IT degree (Bachelor or equivalent) or professional training as an IT Specialist, coupled with deep administrative knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems, virtualization, and container management.
