Job Summary

This role involves highly specialized investigative work within the Cybercrime and Digital Traces unit of the Offenburg Police Department. The specialist will focus on Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and monitoring crime trends related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). Daily tasks include identifying, collecting, and analyzing publicly accessible information from digital, social, and deep/dark web sources, applying specialized investigative tools, and graphically visualizing complex data. A crucial component is the automation and standardization of research and analysis activities, alongside monitoring AI model developments (especially LLMs) in the context of criminal activities. The specialist is responsible for case processing, conducting investigations into medium and serious crime, and documenting and presenting findings in court. Candidates must possess a relevant Bachelor's degree in IT or Informatics and meet specific requirements for the higher IT administrative civil service, offering a secure career path (A11-A13) and excellent work-life balance.

Education

Diploma or State Examination degree (Duale Hochschule, Fachhochschule, Pädagogische Hochschule) OR Bachelor's degree in a suitable field for the higher IT administrative service (e.g., Business Informatics, Computer Science)

Experience
