Job Summary

This IT Specialist role is situated within the Global Engineering Services unit, focusing on supporting and managing critical Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) applications used in plant construction across the BASF Group. The successful candidate will primarily manage the Smart Reference Data master data system and provide consistent Second Level Support to engineering colleagues, specifically involving SQL-based database systems. Key responsibilities include coordinating with software vendors to implement sustainable improvements, driving the integration of the CAE system landscape, and developing minor system adjustments using domain-specific languages (DSL) and .NET. Candidates should possess a completed IT specialist apprenticeship or a degree in Engineering or Computer Science, strong practical IT skills (ideally in an industrial setting), and proficiency in SQL and basic programming/scripting.
