Job Summary

This role involves serving as an Engineer and Specialist/Lecturer within the Federal Railway Authority (EBA), focusing on the supervision and technical oversight of railway signal technology systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the construction, modification, and acceptance of critical signal infrastructure, including interlocking systems, level crossing protection, and train control systems, primarily within the Essen/Cologne region. A key component of the job, following an initial training period, is the development and delivery of in-house seminars and training sessions for employees on signal technology topics. Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Electrical, Safety, or Communications Engineering, coupled with professional experience in signal technology supervision and, ideally, adult education. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work in a vital regulatory capacity for Germany's federal railways.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (TH/University Diploma/Master) in Electrical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Communications Technology, or comparable fields, OR qualification for the higher technical administrative service in the federal administration.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of Signal Technology
  • Experience in supervising the creation/construction of signal technology systems
  • Professional experience in adult education, ideally in a signal technology environment (advantageous)
  • Experience in the technical monitoring and auditing of construction execution
