Job Summary

This role is for a highly analytical and strategic Portfolio Manager responsible for steering the Virtual Power Plant portfolio for Stadtwerke Lübeck Energie GmbH. Day-to-day tasks involve thinking strategically, assessing risks, and driving future-oriented ideas. Key responsibilities include developing and executing sophisticated hedging strategies for electricity, gas, and certificates, managing complex volume and price risks, and contributing significantly to the strategic alignment of the portfolio. The manager will continuously observe and analyze market developments, create complex models for risk and pricing analyses, and optimize existing portfolio management systems (such as robotron*esales or SOPTIM PMS). Success requires a completed technical-economic degree, robust professional experience in the energy industry, and strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or R. This position is attractive due to its focus on system-relevant, future-facing projects, including the transformation of heat supply, offering a secure, permanent role with flexible working options.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical-economic degree, such as Industrial Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and skills.

Experience

  • Robust professional experience in the energy industry
  • Experience in virtual power plants and/or short-term portfolio optimization (ideal)
  • Professional experience in project management
  • Foundational knowledge in procurement markets, risk management, and market analysis
