Job Summary

This critical role involves serving as the Information Security Officer for the Saxon State Ministry for Environment and Agriculture (SMUL), driving information security across the ministry and its business areas. Key responsibilities include leading the Information Security Team, managing the Information Security Management System (ISMS), and coordinating security processes with subordinate authorities. The officer will be responsible for implementing and continuously developing the security concept based on BSI IT Baseline Protection (IT-Grundschutz) and ensuring compliance with reporting obligations. A successful candidate will have a scientific university degree (Master/Diploma) in Informatics or a related field, or a comparable degree with multi-year experience in information security. Strong German language skills (C1 level) and experience in a coordinating or leading function, preferably within public administration, are highly desirable for this full-time, permanent position in Dresden.

Required Skills

Education

Scientific University Degree (Diplom/Master) in Informatics, Business Informatics, Information Security, Public Governance, or a comparable field. Accredited Master's degree required for applicants with a university of applied sciences background.

Experience

  • Multi-year experience in the field of information security (if degree is not in a specialized field)
  • Experience in a coordinating and/or leading function in public administration (Advantageous)
  • Professional experience in the scope of duties (Advantageous)
